Brandon Werth Photography - Brandon Werth

A view of the studio and Britta’s creative process as seen through the lens of @brandonwerth

“A little peek into process and inspiration. Jewelry is more than adornment to me. It’s little keepsakes, little capsules that project how we feel or how we’d like to feel. Most of my work is inspired by the natural world and how we interact with it. But I also love to think of the wearer and the movement of jewelry. It is not a static form, it has motion, it has life. How does that transform us? What makes it precious? Not just the material it’s made of itself but our connection to it, our memories associated with it, the confidence it gives us, our appreciation for it, that’s what makes it precious.”

Rubinski Visual - Madison Holler

See Britta’s creations come to life on the rich landscapes of the North captured by Madison Holler of @rubinskivisual and @rubinskiworks

“With the shift of season I can’t help finding new perspectives the season inspires. Change of landscape, change of daily rhythms, and change of light confirm the passage of time. I’ve been making heirloom pieces of jewelry representing peoples’ most significant parts of their lives for over 13 years now. Crafting pieces with my two hands with hammers, torches, and steel, telling stories of love, commitment, travels, self love, and remembrance. These objects represent what we hold dear, the value is not in the materials which they are crafted, but by the emotion they carry for us. I get to work with gifts from the earth that stir visceral emotions within us, with indescribable feelings that I still relish to witness. It’s an honor to create pieces that will last not just a season, but be part of your story throughout your life. So thank you for being here and following along with the process. Much love to you all, wherever you are today.”

Becoming our Bodies - Emily Comnick

“Seasons of the North” is an ever growing collaboration between Britta and @becoming_our_bodies

“Seasons are instrumental to my work. It allows me to watch in awe how my landscape slowly changes around me constantly provides new perspective and new inspiration. Allows me to tap into my sense of place where my roots can run deep and I can realize my relationship within its cycle. I have wanted to do a series of Seasons for years and found the perfect collaborator in Emily of @becoming_our_bodies I’ve always been amazed by Emily’s work, she’s a true artist and I was honored she was willing to take on this project. She took quiet, delicate, soft moments but gave them such volume, strength and boldness. It is a pleasure to share our first installment of Seasons of the North: Spring. I hope you can see where I draw my inspiration and how the spring season is infused into my work.”
